THE LOVE SISTERS

LOGO
Logo Final.gif

Our logo honors the Love sisters, Nancy and Joan. Nancy and Joan’s maiden name was Love. Nancy’s passion was dancing and the shoes in the “V” recognize the importance dancing played in her early life.

The “ACT” portion of the logo honors Joan. After Nancy’s murderer was freed, Joan fought back, taking a year out of her life to lobby the Missouri legislature to balance the juvenile code with victim’s rights. The name of her organization was “A Challenge Today”.

Joan’s activism to move beyond victimhood is the inspiration for the Love Sisters Project, an organization based on compassion for those who need to know they are not alone.

NANCY

Nancy was the light of the world for those who knew her. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her sister, Joan, and her parents, John and Gladys Love.

Nancy has been described as humble, kind, and quiet. Her passion as a child and teen was dancing, which gave her an outlet that contrasted her introverted nature.

She exuded class and grace, both on the dance floor and off. Nancy was also a passionate reader, often sending her husband, Don, to a Cardinals ballgame so she could curl up with a good book while her children slept.

Her life was tragically cut short at the hands of another but we choose to remember her by showing others the same grace she exuded in life rather than the tragic circumstances of her untimely death.

JOAN

Joan adored her big sister Nancy. She followed her into dance for a short time but her love of sports eventually took her down a different path which she followed her entire life.

She played basketball and softball well into her adulthood and then coached her children’s teams as well.

Joan preferred to stay in the background, but after her beloved Nancy was murdered, she became a fierce and outspoken advocate of the criminal justice system.

Joan loved her family above all else. She married her high school sweetheart and had 4 children then 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She certainly lived up to her maiden name. Love.
